Andrew Sommerhalder is an experienced controller and CPA who serves as financial manager at Arrowsmith Program. This Toronto, Ontario-based program helps students with learning disabilities enhance their cognitive capabilities. Previously, Andrew Sommerhalder served as group and financial controller at the digital design firm Envision Sales, Inc., where his responsibilities encompassed accounting, management, and financial results and reporting for companies in North America.
Mr. Sommerhalder spent nearly two years in this role. He managed monthly and quarterly financial closes for five entities and led the development of a Shenzhen sourcing company and a Hong Kong subsidiary.
Before joining Envision, Mr. Sommerhalder held senior accounting roles, such as CFO and controller, with Hedy Canada Inc., GS Medical Packaging Inc., Perlane Construction, Inc., and Apotheceutics Inc. He has over 30 years of combined management experience spanning diverse industries, including manufacturing, travel, and retail.
Complementing his experience, Mr. Sommerhalder is a CPA Canada and CPA Ontario member. He holds a bachelor of science from the University of Toronto and completed additional programming in accounting and finance at Seneca College, where he made the Dean's Honours List for three consecutive terms. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is a wine connoisseur and enjoys traveling to warm-weather destinations like the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and Jamaica.
